CVE-2026-112012
libtta through 2.3 Stack Out-of-Bounds Write via Zero Channel Count
Description

libtta through 2.3 contains a stack out-of-bounds read and write vulnerability in tta_decoder_process_stream() and tta_decoder_process_frame() because header checks never reject a zero channel count. Attackers can supply a crafted .tta file declaring zero channels so decorrelation accesses cache[-1] with stream-derived values, corrupting stack memory in decoding applications.

Solution
Update libtta to patch stack buffer overflow and out-of-bounds memory access vulnerabilities.
  • Apply the latest libtta update to fix header checks.
  • Recompile applications using the updated libtta library.
  • Validate that zero channel counts are now rejected.
  • Sanitize all media files before processing.
CWE - Common Weakness Enumeration

While CVE identifies specific instances of vulnerabilities, CWE categorizes the common flaws or weaknesses that can lead to vulnerabilities. CVE-2026-112012 is associated with the following CWEs:
