CVE-2026-106465
NetX Secure DTLS Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature
Description

The NetX Secure DTLS server sends a HelloVerifyRequest carrying a freshly generated cookie, but never checks the cookie a client returns. The ClientHello parser copies the client's cookie bytes over the value the server issued, and the server then decides whether the client has been verified from the cookie's length alone. A peer that puts any single cookie byte in its first ClientHello skips the verification exchange entirely, so the server has no return-routability check and completes handshakes for forged source addresses.

CVSS Scores
The Common Vulnerability Scoring System is a standardized framework for assessing the severity of vulnerabilities in software and systems. We collect and displays CVSS scores from various sources for each CVE.
Score Version Severity Vector Exploitability Score Impact Score Source
CVSS 4.0 HIGH e51fbebd-6053-4e49-959f-1b94eeb69a2c
CVSS 4.0 HIGH [email protected]
Solution
The DTLS server must validate client-provided cookies properly, not just their length.
  • Validate client cookie content, not just length.
  • Implement a return-routability check.
  • Update the DTLS server software.
